The Role

This role exists to turn approved plans into finished civil assets that pass inspection, survive use, and meet the promise made to the client. You will lead live sites across earthworks, roads, structures, drainage, rail interfaces, water infrastructure and related electrical and landscape scopes. Success is measured in safe days, held programmes, protected margin and clean handovers, not in activity.

• Deliver assigned packages to the agreed programme, cost and specification, with monthly progress that matches the baseline
• Run sites where critical safety and environmental risks are controlled, incidents are investigated, and actions close on time
• Sequence labour, plant, materials and subcontractors so the critical path holds and rework stays rare
• Settle client, authority and utility issues early, converting them into agreed variations or recoveries before time or margin is lost
• Earn practical completion with as-builts, test records and defects closed, not negotiated at the last hour
• Forecast cost, productivity and programme risk each week and recover slippage without trading safety or workmanship
• Lead supervisors, engineers and site crews, with commercial, engineering and plant support, reporting to senior project or operations leadership
• Control method, sequencing and subcontractor performance within the approved budget and programme

How You'll Connect to the Role:

• Led multi-discipline civil sites through to practical completion, not only a single trade package
• Demonstrated experience across earthworks, roads, structures, drainage, rail, water infrastructure or related civil scopes in south-eastern Australia
• Applied Australian WHS, environmental and quality management systems on live construction sites
• Held programme and cost, including subcontractor performance management and variation control
• Communicated clearly and decisively with clients, authorities, utilities and crews, including when the programme was under pressure
• Delivered projects for tier-one builders, road and rail authorities, utilities, defence or local government
• Current licences and tickets required for the jurisdictions and plant you will manage
• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline highly regarded

The Role

Bespoke interiors only succeed when design intent, trade coordination and site reality land on the same date. This role owns that outcome across residential fit-out, shopfitting, joinery installation and commercial works — holding quality, budget and program so clients get a finished space, not a handover of excuses. You will be the person who turns a set of drawings into a controlled build.

• Deliver each assigned project to the agreed program, with practical completion and defects closed on the dates you commit to the client and the team
• Hold cost: forecast, procure and track variations so final accounts land within the approved budget, with no surprise overruns
• Run the site: coordinate joinery, shopfitting and building trades so installations are sequenced, protected and signed off to the specified finish
• Lock scope early — resolve design gaps, client changes and consultant queries before they become rework or delay
• Report progress weekly in plain numbers: percent complete, risks, cash and decisions required, so leadership can act before a job slips
• Close every job cleanly: as-builts, warranties, final account and a client who would commission the next fit-out
• Sit inside a compact delivery team of builders, joiners and site supervisors, with direct authority to schedule labour, place orders within approved budgets and stop work that fails the quality bar

How You'll Connect to the Role:

• Proven delivery of fit-out, shopfitting or joinery-led projects from award through practical completion — not just administration of a program
• Hands-on control of programs, procurement and variations on jobs where finish quality is the product
• Ability to read architectural and joinery drawings and challenge clashes before they hit site
• Clear client and trade communication under pressure, with a record of holding both sides to the agreed scope
• Experience across residential, retail, hospitality or office fit-out in greater Melbourne
• Current eligibility to work in Australia; Construction Induction Card (White Card) and relevant licences, or willingness to operate under the company's licences
• Tertiary qualification in construction management, project management or a related discipline — desirable but not essential
